The Function3 Most Frequently Asked Questions

How much space do you need?

Ideally we need a minimum of 4X2 metres, but we are able to work with what we have if the space is more limited. Due to playing in all different venues we are used to different stage sizings.

 

How is it best to time things?

We can tailor our 2x60 mins sets to whatever suits your big day, usually between  7.30pm-11.30 with An unmanned DJ playlist before, in-between and after your sets until midnight. 

We can also provide a 3x40 mins set if that is more suited to you.

 

Can I pick the band's playlist?

Yes we are happy for you to pick, If there is a specific song you would like from our repertoire for us to play. We would prefer it if you allowed us to choose the setlist and let us read the room in real time.

We also offer First dance song free of charge and one extra song of your choice for free also (that isn’t in our repertoire).

 

Where will you travel to?

We are happy to travel all over the uk and internationally if needed.

 

Can I see you play live?

Most of our work is private functions and weddings, however sometimes we do get the chance to take content from those events and we post it onto our social media pages.

Will you learn our special song? 

Yes absolutely, we can play one special song of your choice, free of charge!

 

Is the video on your website a true reflection of the band?

Yes, if anything we sound even better live!

Are you able to DJ in between sets?

Yes!

 

Can we make DJ requests in advance to my event?

Absolutely, if you send any specific songs you want on your DJ playlist we add this on for you!

 

Can we use your sound system for speeches?

Yes, Of course!

 

What equipment do you use?

We have a 2 x RCF ART 915A Active Speakers PA system, these are powerful and good quality speakers that can cater to your event!

 

Do you have lights?

Yes we have floor lights, Lights for the back of the stage (Govee Lights) and party lights to liven the atmosphere too!

 

How long do you play for?

Typically 2 hours whether that be 2x60 mins or 3x40 mins. 

 

What time do you start and finish?

We tend to start set 1 at 8pm and finish at 9pm and second set starts at 9.30 and finishes at 10.30- however we can cater to whatever timings you prefer for your big day!

 

How long do you take to set up?

We typically take 1 hour to set up, but we like to be there 2 hours before to meet everyone and check the space we will be performing!

 

Can I provisionally book you?

Unfortunately, we do not take provisional bookings, the only way you can book us for the date you would like is book us through this website or alive network!

 

What if the band split up before my event?

We have been playing for many years with no issues and we take our livelIihood very seriously however in the very unlikely event the band split up before your event, we would ensure a suitable replacement is sorted

 

Can my sisters/bosses/daughters dog sing with your band?

Yes, we can accomadate this however we kindly request this is organised with us before the event

 

What will the band wear?

We ensure that our band wear is smart/casual however we are happy to wear suits and cater to whatever your dresscode is!

 

Does the band have PAT and PLI certificates?

Yes we have and carry our PAT certification and our PLI certificate up to 5 million

How much does it cost to book the band?

Our prices vary depending on month and distance as well as any extras you may want to book!

Do The Function3 have any specific requirements?

We kindly ask for a room in which to change, a hot meal and drinks for the duration of our time at the venue.

 

What type/size venues are you able to play at?

We are flexible in the venues sizes that we can play at, whether that be small or large - our equipment can cater for all sizes.

 

How loud will the band be?

Our sound can vary depending on the venue, the type of the event and the sound levels allowed! We have powerful enough speakers to fill big venues but also due to us being acoustic we can also quieten the sound at smaller venues. 

 

What is the band power requirement?

Ideally we would need 3 plug sockets but if that is an issue we can be flexible and make it work with a minimum of 2 sockets.

 

Do The Function3 offer any additional services?

Yes we offer a variety of services depending on what you would like for your event; We can offer acoustic daytime sets, Unmanned and Manned Dj services, a Saxophonist/Rapper and a percussionist all for an extra but competitive fee!
